Front shot of a camouflaged Mercedes-AMG GT 63 Coupe prototype

The upcoming facelifted Mercedes-AMG GT Coupe appears to get a big front grille in the shape of a sad face, our latest spy shots suggest.

Wide and low

We managed to take photographs of a Mercedes-AMG GT prototype driving on public roads near one of Mercedes’ production sites in Germany. The front and bonnet were still covered in camouflage to hide what the final front bumper will look like. However, cutouts in the camouflage wrap indicate the upcoming Mercedes-AMG GT will get a very wide and low grille, which makes it look sad.

This particular prototype was fitted with the ‘old’ (current) headlights, but other prototypes of the same model have been spotted with an updated headlight design.

Mercedes-AMG GT 63 Pro

While the front is covered, the rest of the car shows its bare naked ‘Manufaktur AMG Green Hell Magno’ paint. Pieces of black adhesive tape were used to hide the badges in the rear, but the fixed wing and the lack of a charger port in the rear point out this is most likely the new AMG GT 63 Pro, which will set you back at least 206.500 euros, based on prices in the German configurator.

The facelifted Mercedes-AMG GT is expected to arrive in 2027.
